Writers Notebook

WALT: Collect ideas and experiences

Description: We had to make a page in our writers notebook about what makes you angry. It was really fun.












Evaluation: I think I could work on making the clouds more BLOD.

FeedBack: WOW Sophie :P I think you did a great job :) I think you did a really good job at adding texture and colour. I like how you added a man farting. I think you could improve on adding a bit Bold on the clouds -Zara

Puppet Pal

WALT: Show integrity
WALT: communicate a message with others.

What? Make a Puppet Pal to show our understanding of integrity.

Why? To show what we know about integrity, to share during our Student Led Conference.

When? Term 2, Week 1 - 7

Who? The World

Evaluation: WALT show integrity.
  • Create a story board showing the beginning, middle and end of our message. 
           I think our group good using the beginning,middle and the end.
  • Use Puppet Pals as a tool to share our message. 
           We had to stat again because it was showing kotahitanga.
  • Keep our audience engaged.
           I think we did a good job at making the audience engaged cause we had some funny bits.


DESCRIPTION: We have been learning about integrity. We want to share our understanding with others. We had to stat again because it was showing kotahitanga not integrity. But then we made another video. My buddy Maya.

Science Sample

WALT: show our understanding of how energy works. 

DESCRIPTION: Each week we have been learning about a different type of energy.  For example, States of Matter, Kinetic and Potential, Radiation, Conduction and Convection. I made my poster with Zara Aria because they are my friend.

SC:

Gathering Data

I can share my findings using evidence I have gathered

Task: Make a poster/video (no longer than 30 seconds) about on example of   
energy. i.e. States of matter, Potential and Kinetic energy, Newtons Cradle or forms of energy like Radiation, Convection, Conduction.

The y means go for gold and the pink is pink for think!!!

What makes a good video:
- clear voices
- different camera angles
- Still camera skills
- mute background noise
- mixture of still and moving images
- background distractions
- music

What makes a good poster:
- clear writing
- detail
- images
- interactive

Evaluation: I think I did well at the interactive because we had flaps. 
Next time I think we could work on the clear writing. 

Feedback/Feed Forward:  I like the way you have talked about what you like and dislike about the poster .I think you could improve on a bigger Evaluation. But it was really fun making the poster. I liked how you said your favourite part about the poster. I have to agree I loved how we did flaps and 3D interactive. -Zara

Newton Cradle

WALT: Inform 

Description: We had to write about what a Newton's Cradle is. (its really fun to write about a Newton's Cradle)  

Here is my Writing!!!

How dose a Newton’s Cradle work? 

A Newton’s Cradle work’s like this there are 5 ball’s 
and they hanging from some sting. So you drop the 
first ball that you picked up.

The energy go’s through the ball and the next ball and
the next ball until it hit’s the end ball. While they are
going back and forward it is making a clicking noise.

When you pick the firstball up it is called potential energy.
When you have drop it is called kinetic energy.

Reading Sample Mnemonic

WALT: Rote Learning

Today we had to make a Mnemonic. Mnemonic are when you have a word and let's say the word small/ Sophie made a little lie.

Here is my Mnemonic!!!


















Purpose: We are doing a Mnemonic because we are trying to spell our spelling words in a strategy. (it's really fun)

Process: We first learnt what a Mnemonic was, then we put our spelling word's in our book, then we made the mnemonic and then I put it in to publish state. Then we put them on our blog.

Learning: I learnt how spell word in a really really fun way.

Evaluation: I think I could work on making the words stand-out. But I like my pictures.

Feedback: Wow Sophie the pictures really make it more exciting and make the reader want to read more.Your mnemonic is really awesome but you need to make the words stand out because at the moment the pictures are brighter and bigger.
